Merri-bek user pays permit
We did not enforce timed parking restrictions while covid-19 stage 4 restrictions were in place.
With the easing of restrictions, timed parking restrictions are now being enforced.
If you need to park for longer than allowed in a time-restricted parking space, you will need to apply for a resident parking epermit or other type of parking permit.
The Merri-bek user parking permit is a recently introduced permit that provides longer-term access to on-street parking in areas in Merri-bek where time restrictions apply.
Anyone can apply for this permit to receive exemption from timed parking restrictions in a street where timed parking restrictions are in place.
This does not include areas with restrictions of 30 minutes or shorter or where signage is in place stating permits are not valid (e.g. in front of commercial properties).
Permits are generally issued for the street requested by the applicant.
Council may issue the permit for an alternative street or area at its discretion and in discussion with the applicant (e.g. in the case of a residential street with high occupancy).
