Books
Books for adults
There are novels (fiction), information books, reference books and graphic novels and comics. There are new books regularly in the libraries including best sellers, recent releases and award-winning books.
Books for young people
There are novels, talking books and graphic novels for young people.
Books for children
There are children’s novels and information books. For younger children there are also picture books, board books, talking and rhyming books. Children’s books are available in many community languages.
Magazines
Moreland libraries have many different formats of magazines you can borrow, including popular magazines about art, computers, cookery, craft, current affairs, fashion, gardening, health and fitness, music and parenting. Magazines are available for adults, teenagers and children.
Moreland libraries also offer eMagazines through RBdigital, PressReader and Flipster.
Newspapers
PressReader
Access to online newspapers from around the world in full-colour full-page format. Newspapers are available in their original languages. National and local papers are available.
English language hard copy newspapers are available daily and they include The Age, Herald Sun, The Australian, and Australian Financial Review. The Merri-bek Leader, The Weekly Times are available weekly.
Newspapers are also available in community languages. Check which library has your language.
CDs
A variety of different types of music CDs can be borrowed including: international and Australian rock and popular music, reggae, opera, classical, jazz, Australian Indigenous music and local music CDs.

DVDs
There are DVDs of movies, some television series, documentaries and music concerts.

Large print books and magazines
There is a large print section in each library, except Brunswick. Anyone may borrow a large print book.
A large print edition of Reader’s Digest magazine can be borrowed from the Brunswick, Coburg or Glenroy Libraries.
Talking books
Moreland libraries has a wide range of talking books for adults, young people and children. They are available in CD, MP3, and Playaway formats as well as eAudio format which is downloadable.
Made in Merri-bek
Made in Merri-bek is an innovative program that supports and promotes local musicians, writers and filmmakers by buying their CDs, books and films for the library. The Made in Merri-bek collection features over 400 CDs of local musicians.
