Escape from Lockdown
Creators of all ages are invited to enter the 2021 Moreland City Libraries Short story competition. Submit an entry that is written in 500 words or less, recorded or filmed in 5 minutes or less, around the theme ‘Escape from Lockdown!’

Entries open Tuesday 1 June and close Sunday 18 July 2021. Winners announced Monday 23 August.

Book vouchers are redeemable at most Australian book stores.
Conditions of entry

Entry is free and must be submitted by close of business 18 July 2021

Each entry must be accompanied by a completed entry form

Each written entry is limited to a maximum of 500 words

Each recited/filmed entry is limited to a maximum of 5 minutes

It is preferred that you type your written entries. Illustrated stories, and
recorded stories with or without visuals are accepted

Recorded entries must include the name of the sound file on the entry
form. The content and file name must not include the entrant’s name

Written entries must not include the entrant’s name

Only one entry per writer or reciter/videographer

Entries must be suitable for a general audience

The competition is open to anyone, except staff of Moreland City Libraries
Moreland City Libraries reserves the right to retain, duplicate, display and
publish any entry online.

Only first names will be used

Winners’ names will be announced by close of business Monday 23
August 2021 and published on Moreland City Libraries social media.
The judges’ decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered
into.
