Carols by the Lake

Our carols by candlelight event is held annually in December and will be a digital event this year.
The 2020 Carols by the Lake concert was scheduled for Saturday 5 December but due COVID-19, it will not to be able to go ahead in the usual way this year.
Instead of simply cancelling this festive community celebration altogether, we collaborated with local filmmakers Monster and Bear to bring you a very special video alternative to celebrate our city for its strength and strong community spirit!
A VERY Merri-bek CHRISTMAS: A special community short film
Message from the Mayor, Cr Annalivia Carli Hannan:
Welcome everyone to ‘A Very Merri-bek Christmas’. In a year that has thrown so much at us and forced so much change, it is particularly special to be celebrating together, but apart, with a new and unique in-home Christmas sing-along. This wonderful initiative epitomises ‘Love Local’, providing the opportunity to showcase some wonderful local talent in a film created by a local production company, in conjunction with Arts Merri-bek. I’m looking forward to celebrating with you all, so from my family to yours, I wish you a Merry Christmas. Enjoy!
This at home event features a small collection of excellent music curated and performed by local legends including:
- Kylie Auldist
- Kutcha Edwards
- Sarah Ward (AKA Yana Alana)
- Moreland City Band
- Eugene Ball (Music Director)
- and a few of your neighbours from down the street!
Suitable for
All ages.
