Fantastic Worlds

Fantastic Worlds

Celebrating and exploring the imaginary characters of Australian picture books.

Fantastic Worlds is an exhibition and program that celebrates and explores the fantastic and imaginary characters and worlds of Australian picture books through original artworks, animations and associated media.

Curated for families and children (aged 2 to 10 years), this thematically organised exhibition invites visitors to get up close to experience these imaginative worlds and the curious, mysterious and whimsical characters that occupy these realms.

Created by some of Australia's leading picture book artists, the artworks, animations and related media in this exhibition reveal the inspiring skill, creativity and processes involved in creating artworks for picture books.

Due to popular demand, this exhibition has been extended by one week to accomodate the school holiday period and will now close at 5 pm on Sunday 14 July.
