The Dreamers

The Dreamers

Kirstin Berg

Exhibition: Friday 20 July – Sunday 19 August 2018

Opening: 19 July Thursday, 6 - 8 pm

The Dreamers is an immersive landscape that probes our collective denial and destructive behaviour around thoughtless consumption and material wealth creation despite the epic cost.

Hard rubbish, bush debris, clothing, reclaimed timber and an array of other scavenged materials are combined and manipulated into wall works and sculptural ephemera that bring to light our current state of environmental and human crisis.

This exhibition is an exercise in improvisation. It seeks to glean from the world and transform what is immediately available into something useful and meaningful. The Dreamers acts as a wakeup call and suggests an antidote to unconscious living through the process of proactive reinvention.
