The program is designed to assist artists and businesses/community organisations to recover from COVID-19 lockdowns by providing a short-term employment opportunity for artists and creative solutions for businesses/community organisations.
'Making Space’ is a residency program that connects creatives with temporary spaces, aids in sector recovery, and helps to express the richness and diversity of creative culture in Brunswick. Making Space is proudly delivered by Merri-bek City Council, RMIT and the Brunswick Design District
Moreland City Council recognises the challenges the sector is currently facing and has established the Flourish: Arts Recovery Grants as a once-off grant program to support the local sector during this crisis. These grants have been designed to help the arts and culture sector of Merri-bek flourish.
Arts Activation Grants offer funding and skill building opportunities to support community-led ideas, big and small, which engage Merri-bek's community with the arts.
This program aims to strengthen and invest in the significant creative sector in Merri-bek and enhance the area's standing as a destination for the arts.
