A bit about Moreland Youth
Moreland Youth is a generalist service for young people aged between 12 and 24 years who live, work, study or have a connection to Moreland.
Moreland Youth welcomes all young people from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences including CALD, ATSI, LGBTQI+ young people and young people living with disability.
Moreland Youth is resourced by a dedicated team of youth and community workers committed to improving the lives of young people and work alongside young people to help them grow, learn, and try new things.
- Is Moreland Youth run and staffed by Moreland Council?
Moreland Youth is Moreland Council's dedicated youth service. We run services for young people from age 12 to 24. Our staff have a range of experience and backgrounds. All our staff have experience working with young people.
- How can I lodge a complaint about Youth services?
We commit to having a clear process of handling complaints. This includes complaints about the behaviour of our staff.
If you need to make a complaint, you can call Moreland Council on 9240 1111. You can also make a complaint at the Moreland Civic Centre or the Oxygen Youth Space. The Manager of Youth Services will respond to all complaints. We will keep our records confidential.

Moreland's strategies for supporting our young people
Our Youth strategies guide the creation and delivery of all our services. These strategies also help us to provide for the current and future needs of young people.
- Moreland Youth's full potential strategy
In 2018 we consulted with approximately 2,300 young people, local service organisations and educators to find out how we can improve our services and offerings to help young people reach their full potential.
Out of this research and consultation we developed Full potential: a strategy for Moreland's young people in 2019. This strategy outlines 5 outcome areas where we can best support young people, including:
1. Improving our service system
2. Enhancing voice and participation
3. Increasing skills and job opportunities
4. Supporting health and resilience
5. Providing youth friendly spaces and places

- Our youth action plan for 2020 to 2021
Our youth action plan is tied to our full potential strategy (see above). In order to act on our full potential strategy we have committed to develop a series of 2 year action plans which will enable flexibility, continuous improvement, and allow us to make priority adjustments to our plan.
We send our yearly update reports from our action plan to Council. Council then decide if they will endorse these reports. Currently there are no endorsed reports. When endorsed reports are available you will be able to access them here.
The first and current youth action plan for 2020 to 2021 was developed and endorsed in 2019, and has been aligned to Moreland youth's current available resources.
