Appointments with the Maternal and Child Health Service
See the Council service announcements in relation to COVID-19 page for details on our services during current restrictions.
Your first contact with the Maternal and Child Health Service
There are a number of Maternal Child and Health centres located in the Merri-bek area.
The centre you attend is determined by where you live.
The hospital where you had your baby notifies Merri-bek City Council of the birth of your baby and provides Council with your contact details. This information is then passed on to a Maternal and Child Health Nurse in your area.
Your allocated Maternal and Child Health Nurse will contact you within a week of your return from hospital to organise a time to visit you at home and to make an appointment for you to visit the Maternal and Child Health centre.
Maternal and Child Health Service now on Saturdays
