In 2020, Merri-bek City Council worked to support local food businesses to become COVID-19 compliant by providing a limited number of businesses with their choice of compliance items from the table below, to the value of $500. 

Thank you to all businesses who participated in this program.

In total we received 43 requests and 36 eligible businesses were supported.  36 compliance packs were distributed, supporting our food and hospitality businesses, as well as supporting a range of local business suppliers.

We still have a supply of contactless thermometers for local businesses who employ more than 5 people.

Food and hospitality businesses can continue to contact the Business Support Hotline, if you require any further advice or support.

 


Business Eligibility

To be eligible for this initiative, your business must:

1. have an ABN;
2. trade from a shopfront in Merri-bek;
3. be registered by Council's Environmental Health Unit;
4. be free of outstanding acquittals, debts or financial disputes with Merri-bek City Council (unless approved by Council);
5. not be a gaming venue; and
6. not be the recipient of a Merri-bek City Council Boost for Business grant.
