Gaffney Village Shopping Strip, Pascoe Vale - Streetscape improvements

Project Update - Wednesday 2 December

Gaffney Street Pascoe Vale

Most of the Gaffney Village streetscape improvement works were completed in August 2020. We have since secured some grant funding to make additional improvements in the area. We plan to do these additional works between 9 November and 14 December 2020.

  • Construction of new raised pedestrian crossings on Railway Parade and at the intersection of Railway Parade and Fawkner Road. Railway Parade will be temporarily closed, with exception for Buses. The road closure is expected to be for one to two weeks. Additional landscaping to follow this fortnight.
  • New street furniture has been installed, including bench seats in front of Pascoe Vale train station.
  • Final road line markings and tactile indicators at pedestrian crossings across site.

Merri-bek City Council will be making some streetscape improvements to the Gaffney Village Shopping Strip.

Construction is commencing in February 2020 and expected to be completed in December 2020.
