Gavin Park wetland
As part of implementation of the Westbreen Creek Conservation and Development Plan (endorsed by Council in 2018), Council will design and construct a wetland at the southern end of Gavin Park, Pascoe Vale in 2020-21.
The wetland will treat stormwater from the local residential area and provide important habitat for a range of water birds, frogs and other native animals. Paths, seating and picnic facilites will be designed into and around the wetland to support passive recreation and community enjoyment of the space.
The existing aging playground will be removed and the clown swing relocated to the playground at Austin Reserve which was also recently redeveloped as part of implementation of the wider Westbreen Creek Plan and Councils Playground Srategy.
This project has been made possible with funding through Councils Capital Works and Melbourne Waters Living Rivers programs.
