Hudson Reserve West Brunswick playspace upgrade

Background

The playground at Hudson Reserve in Passfield Street, Brunswick West, will be upgraded this financial year as Council continues to implement the Merri-bek Play Strategy 2016-20 (PDF 2Mb)

The upgrade will create a fresh new play space with inclusion of nature play elements as well as contemporary play equipment, while also retaining an old favourite as the ‘flying saucer’ spinner is being refurbished.

All together this will provide fun and imaginative play for a broad range of ages and abilities.

Draft Concept Plan

A draft concept plan has been prepared for Hudson Reserve that shows the key features of the upgrading, and is now available for information and feedback.

The extent of the play space is being expanded to accommodate swings along with rocks, logs and steppers for clambering, climbing and stepping, creating a greater variet of play opportunities. More trees will be planted at the edge of the playground for extra shade.

In addition to the new park fencing and gates that have been installed, an extra park seat and drink fountaing will be installed in the park.
