Hosken Reserve, Coburg North - Park upgrade

Background

As part of Council's yearly playground renewal program in 2018-19 financial year, the playground at Hosken Reserve was upgraded.

The new playspace incorporates a blend of contemporary play equipment, garden beds and recycled materials through the use of locally sourced bluestone paving, bluestone pitchers, rocks and logs for balancing, standing and sitting.

A new path connecting the existing path around the oval to the playground improves access for prams and pedestrians, with the possibility of connecting the path through to Pallett Street in the future as funds allow.

New plantings of both exotic and native species, will provide further summer shade and winter sun into this play space as well as seasonal colour.

The Hosken Reserve Concept Plan (PDF 489Kb) was presented to the community in October 2018.

The new playspace was open to the public in March 2020.
