Barry Beckett Children’s Centre - Refurbishment project

Project overview

The Barry Beckett Children's Centre is a 44 place centre located at 12 Connelly Avenue, Coburg. 

A Department of Education Grant for $300,000 assisted Council to upgrade the facility to accommodate 88 places, doubling the centre's capacity.

The works included:

• 2 new kindergarten rooms
• Refurbishment of existing kindergarten rooms
• New sensory room and office
• Landscaping
• Kitchen upgrade
• New fully accessible toilets
• Refurbished staff room
• Improved entry and building facade
• Additional storage

Budget and timeline

• Construction budget: $1,667,690
• Construction period: February 2016 - early 2017
