Gowanbrae multipurpose courts - Project works
The new Gowanbrae multipurpose courts were officially opened on 26 June 2015.
Project overview
The new Gowanbrae multipurpose courts are located at Elms Court in Gowanbrae.
Located within close proximity to the community playground, the facility is the first sporting facility for the Gowanbrae community.
The facility includes two fenced synthetic courts courts lined for tennis, netball and basketball. The court construction includes lighting to further increase the opportunity for Gowanbrae residents to become more physically active, more often.
Netball, tennis and basketball are sports that can be played by all ages and abilities. The Gowanbrae Resident’s Group will enhance opportunities for wide community usage through the implementation of developmental programs, with the potential to form a sporting club.
The Gowanbrae multipurpose courts were funded through contributions of $100,000 from Sports and Recreation Victoria and $200,000 from Merri-bek City Council.
