Charles and Dawson Street, Coburg North - Roundabout construction
Project overview
Council has completed the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Charles Street and Dawson Street, Coburg North.
The intersection of Charles Street and Dawson Street has had a history of vehicle crashes. Nation Building Blackspot funding was applied for and subsequently approved by VicRoads.
A rubber roundabout was installed at the site in February 2014 as a trial in order to ascertain if a roundabout would reduce crashes at the intersection. A subsequent assessment determined that the roundabout had reduced crashes at the intersection and therefore a permanent concrete roundabout and associated traffic islands were constructed at the site.
The works were undertaken by ADP Constructions Pty Ltd.
