Sumner Park – Sports Pavilion Facility Refurbishment and Upgrades

Works

The planned works consist of the construction and installation of four new accessible female friendly change rooms and amenities, referee change facilities and a compliant first aid room. The new additions are planned to meet minimum DDA requirements and Football Victoria's minimum facility standards.

This will create an inclusive and comfortable environment for players and referees to prepare for games. 

Why

The refurbishment is part of Merri-bek Council's ongoing commitment to women's sport and the overall health and well-being of the community. Facilities at clubs play a key factor in encouraging female involvement which is why the creation of these new facilities is so important.

Brunswick Zebras FC is an important part of Merri-bek's local cultural heritage, with the club calling Sumner Park home since 1948, and today includes women and girls’ football, and maintains a base of strong junior teams, and men's teams.
