Charles Mutton Reserve – Sports Pavilion Refurbishment

Location

Charles Mutton Reserve, Lorne Street, Fawkner

Works

The planned works are to refurbish the existing sporting pavilion and to construct two new change rooms, an accessible toilet and unisex umpires room with facilities to be female and family friendly. Also included is to make compliant accessible entries to both the change rooms and social club facilities.

Further to the pavilion refurbishements, the precinct circuit paths and outdoor fitness equipment are intended to be upgraded.

Why

Charles Mutton Reserve hosts a thriving community sports club, made up of cricket, Australian Rules football and netball clubs in all ages, genders and abilities. The two sports grounds also host various primary schools in the immediate area for their sports days. With female sports participation rates growing throughout the area, it's important for facilities to reflect this growing trend by being of high quality, compliant and accessible. The new and improved change rooms for players and umpires, plus new accessible entries, will help ensure the local community have access to great facilities in to the future.
