Pick My Project community grants (Media release)
The State Government has announced the launch of a $30 million community grants program, called Pick My Project.
Residents aged 16 and over will be able to submit their ideas for local community projects. Victorians will then decide on eligible ideas for their local area through a democratic online voting process.
This new fund aims to give local communities the opportunity to identify local community projects, and get them delivered. It will focus on project ideas that will improve local communities, such as new or improved sport and recreation activities, or programs that support health and wellbeing, innovation and arts and culture.
The Metropolitan and Regional Partnerships will play a key role in the implementation of Pick My Project in each region.
Submissions will open in May 2018. To submit an idea, residents will be required to identify a local sponsor organisation, such as a council, school or registered not-for-profit community group, to assist in grants administration and support project delivery. Winning projects will be announced in September 2018.
