A fast track to success for Entrepreneurs (Media release)
Entrepreneurs will soon be able to fast track their ideas to success thanks to Converger, a dedicated startup program in the north.
Five coworking and makers spaces have partnered with Merri-bek City Council to develop a year-long free program of workshops, masterclasses, mentoring and meetups to help startups and budding entrepreneurs rapidly reach their potential.
The program is funded through LaunchVic, the agency charged with building the startup ecosystem in Victoria.
LaunchVic Chief Executive Officer Kate Cornick said: "Startups are amongst the largest contributors to job creation in Australia, significantly growing their contribution to the Australian economy over the last five years.
“97% of Victorian startups are based in the Melbourne CBD – so our focus is to expand the opportunities for startups to be created anywhere in Victoria with the right support and ecosystem.”
Converger will be launched on Thursday 18 October at Mycelium Studios in Brunswick by local MP Lizzie Blandthorn.
Mycelium Studios is one of the five local spaces that has partnered with Merri-bek City Council to deliver the program. Also onboard are Space Tank Studio, PathHunting, Prentice Street Studios, and The Brunswick Business Incubator.
With more than 150 attendees already registered, the launch will be an opportunity to get involved and to hear more about Merri-bek and LaunchVic’s vision to develop startups and entrepreneurs across Merri-bek and Victoria.
