"I am particularly proud to have assisted the organisation in strengthening its performance, its ability to deliver and its financial capacity. I leave knowing that the organisation is well placed for future success,” she added.
Merri-bek Mayor Cr Natalie Abboud said, “In a period of rate-capping, Dr Di Lorenzo delivered organisational efficiencies to create a funding pipeline for Council’s major projects, while maintaining service levels for the community.
“Bringing projects like the fully Council funded redevelopment of the Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre and two new parks in the heart of Brunswick through the ‘A Park Close to Home’ initiative demonstrate the strategic foresight Dr Di Lorenzo has brought to the role.
“Her clear future focus, commitment to community betterment and strong business acumen has assisted Council deliver on its bold transformative plan that is making a difference to the lives of many residents.
“We wish Dr Di Lorenzo and her family every success and happiness. We will miss her stewardship, passion and deep connection to the Merri-bek community in which she was raised,” said Cr Abboud.
