Discover new moves this month with Active Week (media release)
Dive, sprint, cycle and bowl yourself into a week of more than 40 free activities across Merri-bek as part of Active Week.
Council, in partnership with YMCA Victoria and local sporting clubs will kick off Active Week on Sunday 24 March.
A fun run begins the week of activities that will conclude with expo days at Brunswick Baths, Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre, Coburg Leisure Centre and Fawkner Leisure Centre.
Active Week is about people of all ages and abilities discovering new ways to be healthy and active. Instructors can adjust activities to make sure individual needs are met so that everyone can take part.
Coburg Leisure Centre has something for the young and the old with teen boxing and adult beginners swimming lessons.
Discover a new world of movement and rhythm with Abada Capoeira at Fleming Park Hall.
Find out what mindfullness is at Fawkner Leisure Centre or try out full moon meditation at Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre.
There will be women's lifting Brunswick Baths, lawn bowls at Fawkner Bowls Club and social tennis at Glencairn Tennis Club. There will also be opportunities throughout the week to play baseball, cycle, try aqua Zumba and so much more.
All registered participants will go into the draw to win great prizes.
Active Week runs from Sunday 24 March to Saturday 30 March.
